Sweet vanilla pod followed by ripe autumnal fruits and subtle nutmeg. Underlying hints of jasmine develop alongside toasted oak.
Flavours of smooth dark chocolate, Seville orange pieces and red apple. Apricot conserve is followed by a touch of sweet dried tobacco and oak influences.
Spicy peppercorns lead to a long lasting menthol finish.
Established in 1973, Braes of Glenlivet Distillery was eponymously named for the location where it was built. The Braes were notoriously known for illicit distilleries in the years before the Excise Act of 1823; its remote location made it an ideal place for stills to run undisturbed by authorities.
The distillery changed its name to Braeval in 1995 so as not to be confused with other distilleries in the area.
