In 1993 economic forces and prohibitive renovation costs sealed the fate of the much loved and highly-rated Rosebank Distillery. Established in Falkirk around 1817 on the banks of the bustling Forth and Clyde canal, the distillery was perfectly positioned to take advantage of the local water supply and transportation links to both Edinburgh and Glasgow. Today, the site is owned and managed by Scottish Canals – a portion of the site is now luxury apartments, the remaining listed buildings currently sit vacant.
Rosebank’s spirit was peerless; triple-distilled, it captured the very essence of the region and is considered by many to be one of the best Lowland single malts. Wonderfully light and fruity, Rosebank spirit matures beautifully in both Sherry and bourbon casks. Our stocks of this lost Lowland malt have developed and matured into something extraordinary: sublime and creamy oak-led palate dances alongside notes of fresh flowers, milk chocolate, and citrus fruits.
Each passing year, Rosebank single malt becomes more difficult to find; our ‘Rare Old’ offerings will keep ‘the one that got away’ belief at bay for a little longer.
