Private Collection 1969 from Longmorn Distillery has been matured in a first fill Sherry butt. This cask has gifted the spirit a medley of dark chocolate and orange zest aromas with black pepper on the palate, leading to a hint of roasted walnut on the finish.
Rich caramel and juicy black cherry aromas weave amongst subtle notes of dark chocolate. Sherry soaked red fruits come to the fore with orange zest and toasted oak.
Smooth and mouth-warming; flavours of roasted orange and grapefruit zest develop alongside sweet and sticky treacle. Subtle cracked black pepper notes comes to the fore with undertones of dried tobacco and fresh prunes.
Long and slightly drying with gentle dark chocolate and roasted walnut.
Established in 1893 by John Duff, who also founded Glenlossie and Benriach distilleries respectively, Longmorn is owned today by Pernod Ricard. Long talked about by Master Distillers and Blenders in hushed tones for decades, making it arguably one of the best kept secrets in the whisky business, Longmorn spirit is prized for its versatility, richness and intense fruity characteristics.
