A true phoenix, the Bruichladdich Distillery has risen from the smoky ashes of a once roaring Islay fire. Bruichladdich can trace its beginnings back to 1881 when it was constructed by the Harvey brothers just off the shores of Loch Indaal, a sea loch on the north west of Islay. The distillery became an Islay powerhouse; purpose built and innovative for its time, Bruichladdich capitalised on the blossoming Islay whisky trade. Bruichladdich experienced several periods of inactivity before it was reinvigorated at the turn of the millennium.
The distillery has flourished; historically innovative, it has resumed its avant-garde approach to distilling whisky. A rich, honeyed, very delicately smoky spirit, Bruichladdich is unlike any other Islay whisky.
