A relatively new distillery, built in the mid 1970s Auchroisk (pronounced as orth-roisk) is located deep in the Speyside countryside, midway between Rothes and Keith. The distinctive collection of white washed buildings of Auchroisk has won many architectural awards for its design.
The character of the spirit is deliciously fruity, which mainly comes down to the tall, slender necked stills used, which encourage a lighter style spirit. Certainly a distillery which shouldn't be overlooked for its lack of centuries-old heritage: on this occasion, youth certainly makes up for a lack of wisdom.
