Created in 1968 by whisky visionary, George Urquhart, over the years this range has featured single malts from almost 100 Scottish distilleries. Comprising more than 2,000 individual bottlings, each Connoisseurs Choice tells its life story through its label: cask type, bottling date, strength, vintage and tasting note.
Nose
Freshly cracked black pepper and dried herbal notes to begin. Time reveals sweeter aromas; vanilla pod, thick lemon curd, and apricot jam leading to malt chocolate.
Taste
Mouth-warming dried chilli with cacao dusted chocolate truffles. Leather and liquorice undertones are balanced by stewed pears and toasted macadamia nuts.
Finish
Very delicate, with notes of bitter orange marmalade.
