Millburn

Millburn distillery was founded in 1807 operating ( illegally) under the name ‘Inverness Distillery’ for the first few years of existence. It had several unsuccessful owners between 1825 and 1892 at which time Andrew Haig & Company acquired the site. The distillery’s name was officially changed to ‘Millburn Distillery’ in 1904. After a fire tore through the site in 1922, Booth’s distillers Limited of London who acquired Millburn in 1921 restored and rebuilt the distillery. Due to the economic climate of Britain and the big recession caused the distillery to close yet again in 1985 and many of the original buildings were demolished.
