Connoisseurs Choice 1989
Created in 1968 by whisky visionary, George Urquhart, over the years this range has featured single malts from almost 100 Scottish distilleries. Comprising more than 2,000 individual bottlings, each Connoisseurs Choice tells its life story through its label: cask type, bottling date, strength, vintage and tasting note.
Rich stewed fruit aromas – raisin, prunes, and apple with demerara sugar. Subtle roasted coffee bean notes come to the surface alongside cocoa powder. Sweet cinnamon spice complements vibrant citrus peel with a touch of beeswax polish.
Mouth-watering; gentle hints of pepper give way to juicy orange and dark chocolate praline. Flavours of red apple and nutmeg combine with charred oak.
Long and fruity; lingering oak with a very subtle wisp of smoke.
