Established in 1895, through four generations of family ownership, Scotch whisky specialist Gordon and MacPhail has unveiled a one-of-a-kind trilogy collection to celebrate its 130th anniversary.
The collection will be showcased at the third Distillers One of One charity auction, hosted by The Distillers’ Charity and Sotheby’s, on 10 October 2025 at Hopetoun House.
This exclusive set brings together three rare single malt whiskies with a combined vintage that total 130 years, a tribute to the company’s pursuit of perfection since its founding in 1895. Featuring the first ever release of single malt Scotch whisky from The Cairn Distillery, opened in 2022, will be made available to the public.
Owners of both Benromach and The Cairn distilleries, Gordon & MacPhail has crafted a unique showcase that embodies the depth and breadth of the company’s legacy. The luminous display presents three one-off single malts - each drawn from one of Gordon & MacPhail’s distinguished brands - creating a timeless collection that will never be repeated.
Stuart Urquhart, Operations Director, at Gordon & MacPhail, said:
“For 130 years, our family has remained dedicated to crafting and curating single malt Scotch whisky of exceptional quality and rarity. This trilogy captures our past, present, and future, with each expression symbolising a milestone in our journey. We are proud to contribute this unique lot to the Distillers One of One auction in support of such an important cause, bringing together the culmination of four generations of Gordon & MacPhail’s legacy”
Presented on a bespoke crystal plinth designed by Glencairn Crystal, this unique offering features three 50cl decanters; Gordon & MacPhail from Glen Grant Distillery, 75-Year-Old - a testament to four generations of expertise in marrying spirit, cask, and time to achieve unrivalled excellence; Benromach, 52-Year-Old, renowned for recreating the classic Speyside character, a rich whisky with a delicate hint of smoke; and The Cairn, 3-Year-Old, the inaugural whisky release from Gordon & MacPhail’s newest distillery, situated in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park.
The collection embodies rarity and heritage, with each bottle capturing the ethos of the company’s legacy and future.
Beanie Geraedts-Espey, Managing Director of The Distillers One of One, said:
"Gordon & MacPhail is synonymous with rare and remarkable whiskies, and their Lot for the 2025 Auction is no exception - a super-aged Glen Grant, a rare Benromach and of course, the first ever bottle of The Cairn. We are delighted and humbled that they are offering these treasures for our charity auction, as a third time returning donor to The Distillers One of One."
The Distillers One of One auction will feature 40 ultra-rare, never-to-be-repeated whiskies, donated by 36 leading companies in the Scotch whisky industry. All proceeds from the sale will go to The Distillers’ Charity, supporting transformative causes across Scotland.
