The Stills

Dailuaine produces a full-bodied Speyside spirit, not the style one expects when looking at the stills. Both the wash and spirit stills are large and both have features which would cause additional reflux - the tucked neck on the "lamp" wash still and the inclined Lyne arm on the spirit still. There are separate receivers for the low wines and the feints and foreshots. Set quantities are mixed in the charger prior to pumping to the spirit still. Condensers are used for the cooling of the spirit vapours.
