Dailuaine Distillery Chronology
1851 Established by a local farmer William Mackenzie. It was taken over by his widow Jane in 1865 and then by
their son Thomas.
1884 The distillery was rebuilt and a partnership formed with James Fleming: Dailuaine-Glenlivet Distilleries Ltd.
1898 Dailuaine-Talisker Distilleries Ltd formed together with Imperial Distillery. Bon Accord Distillery in Aberdeen was
acquired and renamed "North of Scotland"
1916 Dailuaine-Talisker Distilleries Ltd was taken over by a consortium which included Johnnie Walker & Sons Ltd.
1917 The distillery was rebuilt after fire.
1925 After an amalgamation of the consortium which took over in 1916, Dailuaine became part of DCL
1959-60 Distillery expanded from 4 stills to 6, Floor malting replaced by Saladin Boxes and a Dark Grains plant built.
1983 Malting ceased on site.
