New Expressions added to Gordon & MacPhail’s Single Malt Whisky Portfolio
Benromach Classic 55 Years has scooped the Best Brand Development Award at the Scottish Food & Drink Excellence Awards held in Edinburgh last night (Wednesday11 May 2006).
Launched in 2005, Benromach Classic 55 Years is the flagship product in the Benromach range. The product was introduced to meet the growing demand for super-premium products and to raise awareness of the Benromach brand. Only 70 bottles of this rare single malt are available for sale.
This exceptionally Speyside Single Malt Whisky was distilled in 1949. It is mellow and rich and is presented in a hand-blown bottle and burnished hand-crafted copper tube. Both are uniquely numbered and are accompanied by a certificate which plays tribute to story of the production in 1949. On the reverse side of the certificate there is a brief excerpt from the distiller’s report of that day.
Benromach Classic 55 Years 42.4% is part of the award winning Benromach range, which includes: Benromach Traditional 40%, Benromach 21yo 43%, Benromach 22yo Port Wood Finish 45%, Benromach 25yo 43%, Cask Strength 1980 58.6% and Benromach Vintage 1968 41.8%.
After receiving the award from Maggie McGinlay, Scottish Food and Drink director, David Urquhart, UK sales director at Gordon & MacPhail, proprietors of Benromach distillery said, “I am delighted to receive this award on behalf of Benromach and Gordon & MacPhail.
