Lifetime Achievement Award for G&M
At the annual Scottish Food & Drink dinner
at the National Museum Scotland in Edinburgh on 22nd May 2003,
Willie Sanderson, the Chairman of the Royal Highland & Agricultural
Society of Scotland, presented the Scottish Food & Drink Lifetime
Achievement Award for 2003 to the four directors and shareholders
of the company, Ian, David and Michael Urquhart and their
sister, Rosemary Rankin.
Willie says,
“This award recognises Gordon & MacPhail’s
ability to innovate and pioneer and I am delighted to award
it for the Company’s unique contribution to the Scotch
whisky industry. ”
Gordon & MacPhail, the World’s
Leading Malt Whisky Specialist, was established in 1895. They
specialise in maturing and bottling a wide range of single
malts. Their warehouses in Elgin hold casks from over 80 different
distilleries. The whiskies are carefully selected and then
bottled by Gordon & MacPhail. Their current range includes
whiskies from five to 60 years old and extends to more than
460 different presentations.
In addition, the Company owns and runs Benromach
Distillery in Forres, which produces Benromach, an award winning
single Speyside malt whisky.
Ian Urquhart, Managing Director, comments,

of everyone at Gordon & MacPhail since 1895.”
