New look for Benromach single malt whiskies
May 2004 saw the successful launch
of Benromach Traditional, the first distilled single
malt whisky to be released by Gordon & MacPhail
since reopening Benromach Distillery in October 1998.
Now in October 2004, the rest of this
fine range of single Speyside malt scotch whiskies has
been released in distinctive modern packaging.
The whiskies are presented in attractively
designed clear glass bespoke bottles with colour coded
labels that aid ease of choice. Packaged in striking
tins, the high quality of the whiskies remains unchanged
and two new products have been added to further enhance
the range: Benromach Vintage 1969 and Benromach 21 year
old Tokaji wood finish.
The Benromach range, now comprising
Benromach Traditional, Benromach 18yo, Benromach 25yo,
Benromach Cask Strength 1980 58.6%, Benromach Vintage
1969 and Benromach 21yo Tokaji wood finish, offers whisky
enthusiasts the opportunity to savour a selection of
vintages from this award winning Speyside Distillery.
Ian Urquhart, Managing Director of
Gordon & MacPhail, the owners of Benromach Distillery,
comments,
"This new design for the Benromach
range combines our heritage in the whisky industry and
our commitment to traditional whisky making methods
while packaging Benromach in a modern and contemporary
style.
"We feel that this reflects the
quality of our single malt whiskies and will appeal
to our loyal Benromach drinkers as well as attracting
new drinkers to the range."

ABOUT BENROMACH DISTILLERY
On the outskirts of the royal and ancient market town
of Forres, lies Benromach Distillery, the smallest working
distillery in Speyside. Founded in 1898, the distillery
suffered many closures and changes in ownership prior
to 1993 when malt whisky specialists, Gordon & MacPhail,
rescued it. They set about an extensive reinstallation
programme to bring Benromach back to its former glory.
HRH The Prince of Wales officially reopened the distillery
in its Centenary year 1998. Benromach Traditional, the
first whisky distilled by Gordon & MacPhail since
reopening the distillery, was launched to great critical
acclaim in May 2004.
WHAT'S BEING SAID ABOUT BENROMACH
DISTILLERY
"This is a distillery which is going back to the
future, taking tradition and tweaking it subtly in an
attempt to recapture a style which has been slowly slipping
away over the past 40 years." ~ Dave Broom
"While much in the industry changes
there seems to be somewhere where old values are practised
and not so much preserved but are actually cherished."
~ Jim Murray
ABOUT GORDON AND MACPHAIL
The family owned firm of Gordon and MacPhail is the
World's Leading Malt Whisky Specialist with over 109
years experience in maturing and bottling single malt

have purchased 'new make' whisky, matured and bottled
it to provide the most extensive selection of single
malts for sale to a discerning public the world over.

in Forres in 1993. They re-opened it in 1998 and are
now distillers in their own right, thus completing the

to distribution and selling. In 2003, they were awarded
the Royal Highland & Agricultural Society of Scotland
(RHASS) Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of
their contribution to the Scotch Whisky industry.
