Benromach Distillery Managers’ Tour
See the workings of Speyside’s smallest and most exclusive working distillery through the eyes of its Manager, Keith Cruickshank. Keith will guide you round the distillery, where just two experienced distillers create Benromach using the finest Scottish barley and the purest spring water from the nearby Romach Hills.
After the tour, Keith will help you to understand the aromas and complexities of various expressions of Benromach Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

Whisky & Chocolate Whisky Tasting

Speymalt – The Box Set Whisky Tasting
Grasp this rare opportunity to discover for yourself more than 60 year’s of distilling history from one of the world’s most famous distilleries – Macallan Distillery. Established in 1894 the distillery overlooks some of the finest fishing beats on the River Spey. Gordon & MacPhail’s Joint Managing Director, Michael Urquhart, who joined the family business in 1981, will guide you through a collection of Speymalt bottlings from Macallan Distillery available in a unique Speymalt box set, including whisky distilled in 1987, 1973, 1967, 1950, 1940, not to mention the extremely rare 1938 vintage priced at £3500 a bottle! Having slowly matured for over 65 years in sherry casks, this unique whisky has retained its elegance and refinement. Rich and aromatic with honey, cinnamon and spices all wrapped in a sweet sherry parcel.

On Yer Bike!
Come and enjoy a dram in good company of David Urquhart, Joint Managing Director of Gordon & MacPhail. Only a year after undergoing a life-saving double heart bypass operation, David completed a goliath challenge in September 2004 and cycled around all forty-four operational distilleries in Speyside, collecting a cask sample from each. David looks back on his journey, sharing his stories from some of his favourite distilleries, as he highlights five Speyside single malts from the Gordon & MacPhail portfolio.
The final whisky to be enjoyed will be the unique and rare Pride of Strathspey Malt Whisky. Bottled on Christmas Eve in 2004 using the cask samples collected by David, the Pride of Strathspey Malt Whisky is a truly remarkable and enjoyable dram – a tasting not to be missed!

Benromach Distillery Exclusive Managers Tour
For many years, the Urquhart family who own and manage Gordon & MacPhail had dreamt of owning a distillery, and in 1993 this dream was realised when the company bought Benromach Distillery. Following five years of reinstallation work, HRH The Prince of Wales formally re-opened the distillery, exactly 100 years after its foundation in 1898. Join Ian Urquhart, recently retired Managing Director of Gordon & MacPhail for an insight into the family philosophy for producing high quality single malts, which has evolved through the four generations of the Urquhart family. Ian will explain how Gordon & MacPhail completed the whisky circle and fulfilled a wish held for many years by purchasing their first distillery.
Following Ian’s presentation, bring the story to life and join Distillery Manager, Keith Cruickshank for an in-depth tour of the distillery with an opportunity to taste new make spirit right through the distillation process.
Complete the story by indulging in a tasting of various expressions from the range of Benromach Speyside Single Malt Scotch whiskies, with expert guidance from Keith, the man behind the malt.

The Time Machine Whisky Tasting
Join Ewen Mackintosh, Associate Director and Whisky Supply Manager at Gordon & MacPhail on a unique journey through 284 years of distilling history, with an exclusive tasting of six rare vintages from some of Speyside’s great distilleries. Begin your journey with a tasting of a limited forty year old bottling distilled in 1966, from the enigmatic range Secret Stills. To give you a clue this exclusive bottling is from a distillery built on the Ballindaloch Castle Estate.
Going back in time, Ewen will continue the journey with tastings of MacPhail’s Collection from Tamdhu Distillery 1962, Strathisla 1954, Glen Grant 1948 and Mortlach 1942. Complete your journey, and indulge yourself with a tasting of a wartime distillation of the extremely rare Glenlivet 1940. This is an opportunity not to be missed!
